The cookie crawl is still going until 6pm. Everything else has been cancelled.
Downtown Royal Oak will sparkle with holiday cheer during the Royal Oak Jingle taking place Saturday, December 11. Holiday festivities include a traditional Cookie Crawl, Light Holiday Parade and Winter Market. Royal Oak Jingle visitors can also see reindeer, enjoy live entertainment, get photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and more!
The festival kicks off with the ever-popular Royal Oak Jingle Cookie Crawl on from 1- 6p.m. on Saturday, December 11. Guests purchasing a pass in advance receive a tin, a map directing Cookie Crawlers to local retailers to collect freshly baked cookies from local bakeries including Mia’s Bakery & Coffee Shot, Sarah’s Sweets, Carter’s Custom Cookies, Serendipity Cakery & Ice Cream Shoppe, Nino Salvagio, Pronto, Rise Up Bakery presented by Capuchin Soup Kitchen, Avalon Bakery and Woodward Corner Market. The Cookie Crawl typically sells out, advance passes are highly recommended and available at www.ROJingle.com
Another beloved holiday tradition is the Horse & Carriage rides. Carriage rides start at 3rd Street, east of Main then the carriages will go down to Lincoln and back up Main Street for a spectacular view of Downtown Royal Oak. Advance tickets are recommended and can be obtained at www.ROJingle.com. Any available “day of” tickets will be sold at the heated tent on 3rd Street, east of Main.
The Holiday Light Parade hosted by Genisys Credit Union takes place on Main Street, between Lincoln and Eleven Mile, beginning at 7 p.m. The parade features floats from The Parade Company, the local community and businesses. More than fifty organizations will be joining us this year including the Royal Oak High School Marching Band, Detroit School of Arts Marching Band, Meijer, Redford Unicycle Group, New Edge Figure Skating Club, Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, Salvation Army and many more! Each group challenges their ingenuity to illuminate floats, vehicles or other fun motorized object!
Santa & Mrs. Claus, presented by Meijer, will be greeting Jingle visitors inside a heated tent with a beautiful holiday backdrop on Center Street between 3rd and 4th Street. Families can take their own FREE photos Santa & Mrs. Claus from 8p.m. – 10p.m.
Find the perfect gift while enjoying the sounds of the holidays at the Winter Market, a heated tent with live music; hand-crafted merchandise from local vendors; a cocktail bar and a made-to-order hot cocoa bar for the young and young-at-heart. The Winter Market will be open from noon until 10 p.m. and includes the Jim Beam Find Your Flavors Tour. The Jim Beam® Find Your Flavors Experience features a variety of fun and interactive elements to create the ultimate immersive experience, including custom flavor walls, photo engagements, games, and, of course, delicious samples of Jim Beam® Flavors. Jingle visitors can also play outdoor games, enjoy s’more stations and other tasty treats from a variety of food trucks!
